Rugby star Ilona Maher shared a 'crazy' story from her recent visit to a salon. Maher went to the salon for a pedicure session amid her participation in the 33rd season of Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), a reality show.
Maher, a TikTok sensation and Olympic bronze medalist, is known for encouraging young girls to embrace self-love, push against societal norms, and stand up for themselves. Her appearance on DWTS is expanding her popularity to even wider audiences.
Maher shared a wild story from a recent salon visit where she encountered a man whose behavior came across as suspicious. In her Instagram post, she shared the experience, saying:
“I went there about an hour and a half before they closed. So, I was one of the last customers to be in there. As I was in there, employees were leaving. All the customers were gone. It was just me and two ladies. But as I'm getting it done, this guy walks in and asked for a pedicure as well. So they sit him down. And you know we're both getting worked on. And mine gets done.”

“I got regular nail polish. I didn't get gel this time so it means it has to take time to dry. So, he's just sitting there. They're working on him and the ladies sent me out like, ‘Okay just wait. And so I waited. And then I'm like was it ready to go? They're like no keep waiting’...I'm like, ‘Alright I'm going to keep waiting.’ I wait there for no joke. Probably an extra half hour. 25 minutes from when it was all done. And they finished up on him. He leaves.”
The ladies from the salon came to Maher after he left.
“Finally they're like, Okay, we'll close you out now. I was like, ‘Alright here we go’. Then, they said, Sorry we kept you so long. We just wanted you to be here with us while he was there.’ And I was like, ‘I totally understood then why they did that. It's a crazy world there.”
After she went outside the salon, Ilona Maher shared what the man told her, stating:
“As I'm walking out this guy looks at me and says can I go home with you? And then I'm like no and he says why not?”
However, Maher didn’t pay attention to him and kept walking.
