Allyson Felix hilariously revealed how she monitors her children on the nanny camera when she is away for work. The former track athlete appreciated her husband, Keneth Ferguson, who put the kids to bed on time.
Felix, the seven-time World gold medalist, retired from the track after the 2022 World Championships but continues to be associated with sports in administrative roles. She currently serves as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes' Commission, elected at the Paris Olympics, and will hold office till the 2032 Brisbane Games.
The former Olympian also works toward the betterment of female athletes in all aspects. She partnered with Pampers to set up a nursery in the Olympic Village, equipping the space with kid-friendly stuff and offering an opportunity for parent athletes to bond with their kids.
The idea struck her when she traveled to the Tokyo Games with her firstborn, Camryn, and faced challenges since she didn't have the provision to bring her family. Felix and Ferguson welcomed their second baby, Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, on April 10, 2024.
Felix shared how she keeps track of her kids when she is away for work by sharing snaps of her nanny cam footage on Instagram. In the caption, she jokingly mentioned how she "stalked" her kids and, at the same time, thanked her husband for putting the kids to bed on time.
"I definitely stalk the kids when I'm away for work. good job @supermanferg, both kids sleep by 8:30.
After building a childcare fund in 2021 and an Olympic nursery in 2024, the 38-year-old noted how times have changed with women flourishing professionally even after welcoming motherhood.
"This is a shift in culture. It's saying that motherhood isn't the end. If you choose to be a mother in the midst of your career, you can still go and have incredible performances."
The Melinda French Gates Foundation offered $20 million to Felix in support of black maternal health.
