Allyson Felix's first pregnancy wasn't the way one expected it to be. She faced a lot of trials and tribulations in the first one but she made sure that her second one was perfect.

The 38-year-old former Olympian confirmed the name of her second child with PEOPLE. They named their son Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, whom they will lovingly be calling Trey.

"We are overjoyed to welcome our son Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, who we will lovingly call Trey, Felix stated. Born April 10th at 10:55pm, weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz."

Along with this, Allyson Felix mentioned how badly she wanted to have a beautiful pregnancy after having a disturbing experience during her daughter's delivery.

"As a Black woman who already had been through a traumatic-life threatening delivery with my daughter, I desperately wanted a joyful birth experience I could celebrate. I'm so grateful I had a daughter who saw me, heard me and made me feel safe."

Fortunately, the experience of the second pregnancy for Allyson Felix was way different than the first one and she is extremely grateful for that. She shared that this is one of the reasons that motivates her to advocate for black women.

"The entire experience was powerful, challenging, healing, and so beautiful, Felix stated. My birth experience inspires me to continue to advocate for Black maternal health and the outcomes we can achieve when we listen and support women."

Allyson Felix has always been extremely transparent about the traumatic journey of her first pregnancy. Her big feud with Nike was one of the major highlights of that.

She parted ways with Nike in 2019 and revealed that the brand had been pressuring her to get back to training as soon as possible after her pregnancy. Felix also revealed that Nike offered her a pay which was 70% less than her previous arrangement.

After evaluation by the Olympian, it came out that Nike changed their maternity policy for athletes. She had to hide her first pregnancy for multiple reasons.

"I was concealing my pregnancy and working out where nobody could see me."

It was an isolating and lonely experience for Allyson Felix. However, the second pregnancy was a beautiful one and the family is overjoyed to have a new addition to their family.
