Bo Bassett couldn't control his excitement after clinching the Who's Number One title, a crowning achievement in his wrestling journey. The Who's Number One event, where the best high schoolers in the United States of America face off against each other, was scheduled on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Sports Center.
Bassett locked horns with seed no.2 Daniel Zepeda and pinned the latter to earn a decisive 12-6 victory. With only 23 seconds left on the clock for the conclusion of the bout, the seventh-grader bagged his final point claiming the victory in the 144 lbs category.
Days following his victory, Bassett took to social media to express his contentment in securing the title during his third appearance at the event and wrote:
"2024 WNO!!!"
He added:
"When you do all the little things right, the big things take care of themselves. I am so grateful for that opportunity and getting the chance to wrestle in WNO for the third time. Thank you to everyone for the support. Thank you Johnstown!"
Further, Bassett told that his upcoming event would be the 2024 Florida Super 32.
"Back on the Hunt! Locked in, Super 32- ten days out. See you there. 😊"
Bassett's victory at the 2024 Who's Number One became sweeter as he triumphed over Zepeda, who defeated the Pennsylvanian wrestler at the 2023 edition by fall at 6:27.
