Gabby Thomas recently reacted to the 50m race between Noah Lyles and IShowSpeed. The YouTube streamer challenged the athlete for the 50m sprint with $100,000 as the prize, which was won by Lyles.
Everything began during a live stream that IShowSpeed was doing to attain 33 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. In the middle of this, he received a call from another YouTuber, Mr. Beast, who had Lyles on the call with him and also had a container with $100,000. After seeing Lyles, IShowSpeed instantly challenged him to a race to prove that he is the fastest man alive.
"Noah, Noah, race me! I need to prove to the world that I am the fastest man alive, bro. And I need to race you! Me and you need to race," said IShowSpeed.
Lyles responded:
"When do you want to lose, man? I am where I always am, I'm in Florida."
The challenge recently took place in Orlando, Florida, where Noah Lyles nabbed the victory. However, many on the internet believed that it was a close call between the YouTuber and the Olympic medalist. The discourse grabbed the attention of another Olympic champion, Gabby Thomas. She re-shared a video of the race, with the caption:
"Different angles show how close IShowSpeed was to beating Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles."
Disagreeing with this, Thomas wrote:
"This wasn't close....like at all😂 "
