McLaughlin-Levrone competed in her Olympic season opener at the 2024 Mt. SAC Relays, which were held at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, California, United States, for three days from Wednesday, April 17 to Saturday, April 20.

The two-time Olympic champion competed for the Formula Kersee along with her team members, including Keni Harrison, Jenna Prandini and Morolake Akinosun, in the 4x100m relay race.

The American hurdler and sprinter, McLaughlin-Levrone, opted for a unique and dramatic attire to mark her return to the sport after remaining absent from the track for a prolonged period.

She was seen sporting a brown New Balance kit. The upper part of the bodysuit featured an off-shoulder on her right hand with a full sleeve covering her left arm. The lower leggings ended at a height right above the ankle. She opted for what appeared to be the newly launched Fuelcell SuperComp MDXV3 spikes and completed the look with a golden watch.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's team secured second place after registering 42.93 seconds. Team International, consisting of Dina Asher-Smith, Rhasidat Adeleke, Lanae Tava-Thomas, and Julien Alfred topped the event, clocking a time of 42.03 seconds.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently revealed the hidden talent that she practices before her meets.

She has been a two-time Olympic champion at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 4x400m relay and 400m hurdles. She holds the world record in the women's 400m hurdles, which she set during the 2022 World Athletics Championships in the home arena in Eugene, Oregon, by clocking an impressive time of 50.68 seconds.

During her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she displayed her secret talent for juggling, which she includes in her pre-race routine, and emphasized the effects it has on her performance.

"Juggling is actually really good," McLaughlin-Levrone' said. "Number one, for like calming you down. It gives you something else to focus on, it's really good for hand-eye coordination, and it's a really good party trick that you can pull out anywhere."
