American hurdler Grant Holloway was recently questioned on whether he wanted to pursue a career in the National Football League (NFL) ahead of his participation in the 2024 Lausanne Diamond League, scheduled for August 22. Before the Diamond League meet, Holloway participated at the Paris Olympics where he had a dominating run, claiming the gold medal in 110m hurdles.

After bagging the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the 110m hurdles, Holloway upgraded his medal to gold at the Paris Olympics by recording a phenomenal time of 12.99s to add another huge accomplishment to his long list of achievements.

Ahead of the Lausanne Diamond League, Holloway was asked during a press conference about his thoughts on returning to NFL.

“No, the thought of it is not in my eyesight no more. I devoted my life to track and field, probably about, maybe, I'll say about 15 years ago, and that's where I wanted, that's just the trajectory I took. Obviously, everybody has a different story, a different book to write,” Holloway said.

Grant Holloway also talked about fellow athlete Devon Allen.

“You know, Devon is a phenomenal athlete and he decided to leave, and he still has dreams and aspirations of becoming a starter in the NFL, which is always a heartbeat. But for me, I don't see myself ever going to the NFL.”

Holloway, however, expressed confidence in his decision as he believed he could never picture himself being a part of the NFL in real life.

“I can see myself playing in the NFL in a video game, but not in real life,” he added.

Holloway further emphasized that his primary focus is on doing well in the Lausanne Diamond League:

“The main focus, like I said, is we're here in the postseason. You bring in friends, you bring in family, you're able to have that side of relief off, and we're just going to keep the main thing the main thing. We're going to get ready to run fast tomorrow, and if the NFL comment comes up again, we're here at the Diamond League circuit, and we're going to keep it there.”
