Mikaela Shiffrin recently shared a bunch of pictures, giving a glimpse into her hilarious transition from all decked up in a shimmery dress to getting prepared for her second World Cup appearance in Levi. The skier commenced her season by competing at the first stop of the Alpine Skiing World Cup for the 2924/24 season on October 26 in Soelden, Austria.
The start of 2024 did not pan out as planned by the skier after she met a devastating crash during the downhill race in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. She crashed into the safety net after she lost control while landing a jump. She was airlifted ten minutes after getting medical attention at the nearest hospital.
Following this crash, she sustained her MCL and tibiofibular ligament in her knees and bruised her bones as well. This forced her to withdraw from 11 races of the season. However, the skier made her comeback in the 2024-25 season and is all set for her second stop of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Levi, Finland.
Shiffrin shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram, where she showcased an amusing transition from her glamorous version to her skiing version. The first few pictures showed Mikaela Shiffrin posing in a brown-colored shimmery dress on the street, which was followed by her pictures of lying on a massage table while wearing her skiing jacket, a selfie with a face sheet mask, and some pictures in a green hoodie. The post's caption read:

"My mentality for so long has been trying to avoid those questions. I've talked to you all about this, like, 'the numbers again, the records, I don't want to talk about the records, I don't think about the records'. Even though that may be true, bringing energy to the sport is never a bad thing."
She added:
"Whether you want to talk about records or statistics or anything, and I feel energized right now when people bring up 100. I think it's incredible that people are still following along this journey and excited about it."
