Shaun White dressed up as The Riddler and his fiancee Nina Dobrev channeled the DC comic character Poison Ivy for Halloween. On Thursday, October 31, the couple hosted a party before heading to Kendall Jenner's star-studded Halloween bash.
White earned the title of the most skateboarder and snowboarder in history with five Olympic appearances. He broke the record for the most X Games gold medals by a snowboarder before drawing a line to his storied career in 2022. Even after retirement, White remained well-connected to sports, partnered with several brands, and launched his active lifestyle brand - Whitespace.
Besides his sporting engagements, Shaun White often updated about his dating life with Nina Dobrev, the Canadian actress well-known for her role in The Vampire Diaries. Recently, White went down on one knee and proposed to Dobrev at The Golden Swan restaurant in New York City.
The newly engaged couple then pulled out their best outfits for Halloween. The former snowboarder dressed as The Riddler, a supervillain of DC Comics, while Dobrev dressed as Poison Ivy, a comic character of the same publishing company.
In the first slide, White posed against a bloody 'Happy Halloween' wall, followed by Poison Ivy accompanying him in the second. The following slides also featured their guests, some channeling positive and some negative characters of the fiction world.
"Riddle me this, riddle me that, the Halloween Monster Mash was a SMASH! Thank you all for coming!" the 10-time ESPY Award winner's caption read.
After hosting the party, the couple attended Kendall Jenner's Halloween bash at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
The snowboarder's outfit remained the same but Dobrev dressed up as Catwoman for Jenner's party.
Shaun White sent a fake invitation to Nina Dobrev and tricked her into a meeting with Anna Wintour
Shaun White initially planned to ask Dobrev for marriage during the summer vacation but the plan was marred when the latter suffered a dirt bike accident. After that, he wanted to surprise her during their time at the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town in November but the actress' friends got hints beforehand.
Hence, White planned for a proposal at The Golden Swan restaurant in New York City in late October. He sent Dobrev a fake invitation, specifying Anna Wintour would meet her over CFDA/Vogue dinner.
On arrival, Dobrev was shocked to see White sitting under the arch with the ring.
"I went into shock. I just froze and stared at him," she said to Vogue.
After celebrating with friends with caviar and champagne, Dobrev and White ordered Shake Shack and dumplings to conclude the night.
