Stephen Nedoroscik was appreciated by his Dancing With the Stars partner for his dance moves in the camera-blocking session. The gymnast will grace the stage on Tuesday, October 15, to dedicate his performance to men's gymnastics, which is slowly being cut off by the NCAA and stopping male gymnasts from dreaming big.
Nedoroscik, 25, won the pommel horse bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics, besides helping the US men's gymnastics team win the bronze by contributing pommel horse scores. The team bronze was the USA's first at the Olympics in 16 years, with the previous being at the 2008 Summer Games. Nedoroscik's individual win made him only the fourth man to medal in the apparatus since World War II.
He then set sail on his Dancing With the Stars journey with his dance partner Rylee Arnold and made his mark as one of the top favorites. Fresh off last week's 'Soul Train' and 'Hair Metal' night performances, the Olympian is gearing up for a special show on Tuesday in honor of men's gymnastics. Before that, the dancing pair had their camera-blocking session at DWTS and Arnold got chills while performing and lauded Nedoroscik in her Instagram story.
"It was so good. Literally, as I was dancing it, I got chills. I don't want to hype it up too much but you did a great job Stephen. You did so good," she said in the video.
In an X post from October 12, 2024, the gymnast unveiled the reason behind his desire to dedicate his upcoming performance to the US men's gymnastics fraternity, which is fading away gradually.
"This week I'm dedicating my dance to men's gymnastics. I chose men's gymnastics because it is a dying sport in the United States, especially with the NCAA being our biggest funneling system in the United States. Every single Olympic Team member was an NCAA gymnast," Stephen Nedoroscik said.
Nedoroscik also talked about the NCAA cutting off men's gymnastics scholarships, which prompted him to advocate for the sport and help it grow.
Stephen Nedoroscik often shares fun game nights with his girlfriend Tess McCracken and Rylee Arnold
Stephen Nedoroscik, who stays with his girlfriend Tess McCracken in Los Angeles with their kitten, called the latter his biggest supporter. They often spend time with the Olympian's DWTS dancing partner Rylee Arnold, playing Uno and other fun games.
“Oh yes, we do game nights. Tess is the best. We get along so well too, so it's so fun.We enjoy so many fun game nights together and I drive up to the studio every day and it's just been so fun getting to know Stephen. We really are having so much fun together,” Arnold said (via People).
Nedoroscik boats a World Championships title, winning in the pommel horse in the 2021 edition. He also clinched his first-ever elite-level national title the same year at the US Championships.
