Simone Biles on her medal-winning appearance at the Paris Olympics
Simone Biles spoke about her medal-winning 'comeback' appearance with the media after the conclusion of the Paris Olympics. The American gymnast revealed how she was elated by the performance and was relieved about the fact that it was finally over.
"I'm not upset about my performance, I'm actually happy, proud, and even more excited that it's over, the stress of it. I've accomplished way more than my wildest dreams, not just at this Olympics but in the sport, so I can't be mad at my performances. I'm pretty proud of myself and it's always so exciting to compete," she said.
Furthermore, she spoke about losing her balance and falling off the apparatus during her beam routine.
"Beam final is always the most stressful. It was really weird and awkward and we've asked several times if we can have some music or some background noise but I'm not really sure what happened there. None of us liked it. It was an odd beam final," she added.
With 30 World Championships and 11 Olympic medals, Biles etched her name in history books as the most decorated gymnast of all time.
