Lindsey Vonn is the third-most decorated female alpine skier after Annemarie Moser-Pröll and Mikaela Shiffrin. She has four overall World Championships in her repertoire, having won in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. Her 20th World Cup crystal globe in 2016 surpassed the legendary Ingemar Stenmark's record of 19, having won from 1975 to 1984.

Years after retirement, Vonn is still invested in the sporting world. As a member of the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee for the Games, Vonn and other dignitaries pitched to the IOC general assembly on July 24 in Paris, to make Utah the host city of the 2034 Winter Olympics.

She also unveiled the reason behind rooting for Salt Lake City as the host city.

"“I think it's a lot to do with sustainability. When we had the Olympics in 2002, they created an endowment to help maintain all of the Olympic venues. And we host international competitions at pretty much every venue every year. And all of our venues are incredibly well maintained, and that's not normal.” (via People)

Lindsey Vonn wishes to create a family village like the Olympic Village

At the 2034 Winter Olympics about to take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, Vonn wishes to create a village to keep families of the athletes, so that they can have a better Olympic experience. "It’s just going to make life so much easier for everyone involved. I mean, my family, even in Salt Lake 2002, my family had a hard time finding a place to stay. You think of how many people are coming into that city to spectate, where are the families going to go? They can't pay a premium on the big hotels. My family stayed at my second cousin's house in Salt Lake City and slept on the floor," she said. (via People)

Lindsey Vonn last swept the downhill bronze at the 2018 Olympic Games, before calling her career off in 2019, citing injuries.
