The final stage of the Paris Olympics torch relay will start when the torch reaches the French capital on July 14, 2024. The date holds a special place in every French person's heart as it commemorates Bastille Day, a national holiday in France officially celebrated since 1880.
For the relay, Kim Seok-jin, who is a member of the popular South Korean band BTS, has been announced as one of the torchbearers for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Popularly known as Jin, the idol will carry the torch at the Louvre Museum area, one of the most iconic landmarks of the French capital at around 8:20 PM (local time).
Besides passing the Louvre Pyramid which will feature Jin, the day will witness the Olympic torch traverse top landmarks in France on Sunday, including Petit Palais, Jardin du Luxembourg, Place des Vosges, Place de la Bastille, L'Olympia and The Centre Pompidou, among others.
The torch will remain in France on July 15, 2024, where it will pass through landmarks like Arena Porte de La Chapelle, Fondation Louis Vuitton, and Stade de Roland Garros among other notable places. The Paris Olympics torch relay will then proceed to the outskirts of Paris before making its way back to the capital for the opening ceremony of the quadrennial games scheduled for July 26, 2024.
