Chamley-Watson is an American fencer who won a bronze medal in the foil team event at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He was one of the four members qualified to represent the United States at the Paris Olympics in foil fencing, with Alexander Massialas, Nick Itkin, and Gerek Meinhardt being the other three. He was a part of the foil fencing team that secured the Mazars Challenge International in Paris in January of this year.

On the other hand, the USA gymnastics team will be led by Simone Biles, who is participating in her third Olympics in Paris. Biles won the women's final at the US Olympic trials to secure her ticket to the French Games, while Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera were also selected for the quadrennial event. Leanne Wong and Joscelyn Roberson were named as substitutes.

In a recent cross-over between gymnastics and fencing, Miles Chamley-Watson, the two-time world champion, showcased his gymnastics skills in front of seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles and Team USA gymnastics alternate for the Paris Olympics, Leanne Wong. In a video reposted by Biles on her Instagram story, the fencer was seen doing a handstand.

She said:

"Gymnastics was everything to me. And it still is, but I just have a different outlook on it. Gymnastics is something that I do, but this is who I am outside of the sport. Rather than making it a whole blob."

She further, added:

"I still make gymnastics a priority. I get my work done and then say, 'OK, I have a wedding to go to because I know how important this teammate is to Jonathan. We can’t put life on hold or pause anymore."

Before her performance at the French quadrennial event, Biles also shared that, being the most experienced gymnast on the team, she wants to be a guide and mentor for the team.
