Simone Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens received personalized gifts during their courtside appearance at the Chicago Bulls vs Timberwolves NBA game. The couple recently reunited after the American gymnast concluded her Gold Over America Tour.
Biles and Owens have spent the majority of their time away from each other since their wedding in April 2023. While Owens has been busy with his NFL career, the American gymnast competed at the 2023 World Championships and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Biles participated in the 32-stop Gold Over America Tour following the Paris Olympics and was looking forward to spending time with Owens.
"I'm really excited to go home, which will now be Chicago, and just spend time with my husband because as soon as we got married, we've been like long-distance the whole time and now I'm doing this tour. So, it's like, when are we gonna see each other?," she told Olympics.com
The couple was finally reunited after the conclusion of the tour and made a courtside appearance at the Chicago Bulls vs Timberwolves NBA game on November 7. They were gifted personalized Bulls jerseys from the team’s mascot, Benny the Bull. The jerseys featured their names on the back and the number 36, which is Owens' jersey number for the Chicago Bears.
Benny also slipped big gold chains around their necks with the Bulls’ logo hanging from them. They were elated to receive the gift and could be seen saying 'Thank You' to the mascot.
"We really cherish those moments" - Simone Biles on spending quality time with husband Jonathan Owens
In an interview with the US Weekly in September 2024, Simone Biles stated that she cherishes the little time she gets to spend with her husband Jonathan Owens in their long-distance married life.
"I feel like the hardest time because we are long distance would be quality time but whenever we are together, we really cherish those moments and make those memories," she said.
The 27-year-old added that they would try to have a nice dinner or just relax together at home.
"We usually try to go to a nice dinner and then relax at the house because that truly is so special for us. We met during covid, so that was like, that's all we were doing was in the house, being around each other, so I think that's truly special but it's also nice that we get to go out and support one another in our respective sports," Simone Biles added.
The couple met at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 through the online dating app, Raya, and got engaged in 2022. They tied the knot in two separate wedding ceremonies in April and May 2023.
