Days after completing her tour, Rivera conducted an 'ask me a question' session on her Instagram handle. One of her fans asked whether she would be competing in Los Angeles.
"Will you be trying for the Olympics in 2028?" the user asked.
To this, the gymnast replied:
"Yes that's the goal!!!"
Simone Biles exuded pride in Hezly Rivera qualifying for the Paris Olympics
Hezly Rivera qualified for the Paris Olympics by securing third place in the beam balance event at the Olympic trials, behind Simone Biles and Suni Lee. Following this achievement, Biles heaped praise on the 16-year-old and exuded excitement about having her on the team. Here's what Biles said: (Via Olympics.com)
"Should we teach her how to drive before she gets to Paris? Like, jeez. She’s so young, she’s so cute, she’s so smart, she’s beautiful. We’re really proud of her for making this team and we’re really excited to show her the ropes and at least she doesn’t have to do it alone, she has four veterans that have been there before.”
Rivera also expressed her happiness at being selected for the team, saying:
"I can't believe I'm part of this team. I never would have thought this would happen."
Simone Biles became the most decorated gymnast of all time after her brilliant performance at the Paris Olympics, as her Olympic medal tally reached 11.
