After a rollercoaster season in 2024, Anna Hall is now back to the gym as she prepares for the upcoming season. The heptathlete shared a promising update of her training with fans as she works her way back to the top.

For Hall, 2023 was one of the best seasons of her career. The year saw her set a new North American pentathlon record and achieve a personal best of 6988 in the heptathlon, placing her fifth on the all-time list. She also won silver at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.

However, the American was dealt a major blow at the beginning of 2024, when she injured her knee and subsequently had to undergo surgery in January. Anna Hall slowly worked her way back from the injury, topping the US Olympic Trials and finishing fifth at the Paris Olympics.

Recently, the 23-year-old shared an update on her preparations for the 2025 season. She posted an Instagram story of herself in the gym, performing half cleans with 75 kgs of weight. She captioned the video,

The recovery window for Anna Hall after her knee surgery was extremely short, as she did her best to qualify for the 2024 Games. After going under the knife in January, she was back on the track in just a couple of months, competing at the Tom Jones Memorial in April.

Hall went on to make an impressive comeback, topping the US Olympic Trials that took place in June to book her berth at the Olympics. After the Games, the American opened up about her journey, telling World Athletics,

“It was very painful emotionally and physically. I was in pain a lot of days at practice trying things that I didn’t want to do, but doctors said, ‘If you want to push, this is what we’re doing.’ Emotionally, that’s super, super humbling. The first few days trying to high jump again, I couldn’t do a single-leg hop and I’m like, how am I supposed to jump 1.85m in six weeks? It was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

At the Paris Olympics, Hall managed to put together multiple impressive performances in the heptathlon. She finished first in the 800m sprint, and third in the javelin throw and high jump. Overall, the American finished fifth at the Games. She will now likely have her eyes set on the 2025 World Championships.
