Simone Biles recently joined the famous singing reality show 'The Voice'. She joined as the playoff advisor for the opening round, at the behest of famous artist Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. aka. Snoop Dogg.
In an interview on the channel Entertainment Tonight, the 53-year-old American rapper revealed why he brought Biles to 'The Voice' as the guest advisor. In his words:
"I wanted to bring someone who I know thinks out of the box. These are the four letters that matter : GOAT, G-O-A-T. Dogg, D-O-G-G."
Though Biles doesn't have any prior experience of singing, she is more than excited to join the show. In an interview with the Associated Press, Biles mentioned:
"We were able to riff off each other and give the artists the best insight going into the next round. It was pretty easy, simple. We're both very mellow. But if we need to bring that energy up, then we can. For us, it was about instilling confidence going into the next week."
Snoop Dogg has been supportive of Simone Biles for a long time. He had even attended the Paris Olympics 2024 to cheer Biles and her teammates on their journey to Olympic glory.
When Snoop Dogg cheered for Simone Biles and her teammates at the Paris Olympics
Snoop Dogg was a part of the Paris Olympics, in the capacity of both a commentator and a strong supporter of Simone Biles and her team. The American rapper attended some of the events contested by Biles, especially the qualification round for the women's artistic gymnastics events held on July 28.
When Snoop entered the arena, Biles and her teammate Jordan Chiles started an impromptu dance move, followed by the rapper performing a little jig of his own. The video went viral, and both Biles and Chiles made it to the finals in style, along with Sunisa 'Suni' Lee.
After the opening ceremony, Biles' adoptive mother Nellie Biles recounted an earlier incident, where Snoop Dogg seemingly ignored her. Taking a playful jibe, Biles commented:
"I remember. I will never forget when we met you in Times Square, 2010. And you said, 'cause we asked for a picture, two minutes. One, two and you were gone."
However, the American rapper took it sportingly, and everyone had a good laugh over it. Simone Biles is now preparing for the upcoming season of 2025, after having participated in the second season of the 'Gold over America Tour', held after the Paris Olympics.
