Sha'Carri Richardson, a highly anticipated athlete at the Paris Olympics, exceeded expectations by concluding her maiden campaign at the Games with two medals. While the American was a part of the first season of the Netflix docuseries SPRINT, she is reportedly not being featured in the second season SPRINT Part 2, leading to some confusion for fans.
Richardson was an integral part of the first season, as the show captured her comeback to the top and her quest for Olympic glory. At Paris, the 24-year-old was forced to settle for silver in the women's 100m behind Julien Alfred but later went on to anchor Team USA to a gold in the 4x100m relay.
Fans were excited to see Sha'Carri Richardson’s Olympic journey, but the sprinter isn't featured in the much-awaited second part of the Netflix docuseries. Reacting to this, one X user expressed their surprise at the omission, writing,
“No Sha'Carri?????”
Another commenter highlighted that fans would get to know more about other athletes’ storylines, writing,
“This is great. There is so much drama & storylines in #trackandfield that fans & outsiders would love to hear about.”
Here is how other fans reacted to Richardson being absent from SPRINT Part 2:
“My girl Sha'Carri isn't featured in the series, but she appeared more times than your faves😏 Tell me who the buzz and clout magnet is again🤭😂???” one fan wrote.
“Why is Sha’Carri on there if she isn’t featured?! WTF?!” another added.
Meanwhile, some fans were enthused by the release of the docuseries’ trailer.
“It’s about to go down,” one X user wrote.
“I loved the raw footage, can't wait to watch the Netflix cut,” a second chimed in.
In the absence of Sha'Carri Richardson, here are the athletes starring in the second season of SPRINT
Despite Sha'Carri Richardson not appearing in the second season of SPRINT, the docu-series will still feature a long list of successful athletes. The biggest stars of the show will be Noah Lyles, who walked away with the 100m title at the 2024 Games, and Gabby Thomas, the only track and field athlete to win three gold medals in Paris.
Outside of Lyles and Thomas, the show will also feature Julien Alfred, Letsile Tebogo, Kishane Thompson, Fred Kerley, Kenny Bednarek, Mellisa Jefferson, Shericka Jackson, and Marcel Jacobs.
The docuseries will allow fans to take a deep dive into the work that went behind Alfred, Tebogo, Thompson, Kerley, Bednarek, and Jefferson’s Olympic success while finding out how Jackson and Jacobs were unable to live up to their previous standards.
