Noah Lyles' girlfriend Junelle Bromfield expressed pride in her partner for receiving a hero's welcome from his hometown, Alexandria. The arrangement honored Lyles' success at the Paris Olympics, where he bagged the 100m gold and 200m bronze.
Lyles entered the Paris Olympic track fresh off his three-peat achievement at the 2023 World Championships. The reigning world champion graced the 100m line-up as a heavy gold medal favorite. Clocking 9.79s, he finished just five-thousandths of a second ahead of Jamaica's Kishane Thompson. Lyles settled for bronze in the 200m finals behind Letsile Tebogo and Kenny Bednarek, having raced with COVID-19-marred health.
Soon after his Olympic stint, Noah Lyles attended the US Open and walked the runway at the New York Fashion Week. His girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, a fellow track athlete and Paris Olympian from Jamaica, accompanied him on his debut runway in the Steve Aoki x One Piece collaborative collection.
Lyles recently received a grand welcome from his hometown Alexandria in honor of his Paris Olympic success. He posted the celebratory video on Instagram and captioned it:
"A true homecoming"
Junelle Bromfield, who felt a glow of pride, penned a note that read:
"So proud of you baby"

Fans, students, and city officials flocked to Lyles' alma mater Alexandria City High School, and rallied alongside the reigning 100m champion. The rally celebration then moved to Chinquapin Park, where Lyles was seen waving at his fans from a red convertible car. He then entered the school gymnasium, where students were waiting for him with banners.
Lyles broke down in tears as he addressed the crowd. His mother, Keisha Caine Bishop, also left some motivational words for the crowd.
Noah Lyles received an unanticipated honor from the Senate of Virginia

Lyles, along with her mother and siblings relocated to Alexandria after her parents' separation, and graduated from Alexandria City High School in 2016. His string of success in high school earned him the high school boys athlete of the year by Track & Field News in 2015, among other accolades.
Cut to 2024, he received the Senate Joint Resolution No. 222 by the General Assembly of Virginia and the House of Delegates. The resolution highlighted his track accomplishments and the Senate of Virginia's appreciation for him.
Lyles took to his X handle to express gratitude to the State of Virginia and fans for the love and respect.
"Thank you so much @AlexandriaVAGov I know this was last minute but it made a lot that so many of you came out today! And thank you State of Virginia for this Resolution," wrote Lyles on his X.
Noah Lyles announced that he ended the 2024 season after the Paris Olympics because of the toll COVID-19 took on his health.
