Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone reflected on her first gold medal and world record win at the Paris Olympics in the post-race interview with Olympics.com. She exuded excitement about nabbing the win and stated that it was a "surreal" moment for her and was an amazing opportunity. She expressed gratitude for her recent victories and said:

"It hasn't really fully hit me yet," said Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. "Blessed, honestly. And excited. It's a surreal moment. But now an amazing, amazing opportunity. And I'm grateful."

She also opened up about the mindset she had while running the race and stated:

"You never really know what's going on. It's really just running all the way through the line. I did get a quick glance at the clock, so I was like, 'Just get over this last hurdle and sprint through the line.' It's just like we've practised a million times."

She further added:

"I treat every meet like its own. So, this was my first time in Paris racing for this Olympic gold. I was just treating it like this was my first time here, and, trying to go for it the same way."

The gold medal win was a consecutive Olympic win in the 400m hurdles for Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, having won the title during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well.
