Cook and Bacon are competing in their maiden Olympic Games. On the opening day of the competition, they won the silver medal in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard diving competition. They amassed a score of 314.64 over five dives to place second for the USA. China (337.68) and Great Britain (302.28) took the gold and bronze medals respectively.

It marked the USA's first medal in the event since the 2012 London Olympics. The divers, now popular as "Cook N’ Bacon", have been friends since childhood and a diving pair since 2019.

Like the USA in swimming, China has been a dominant force in diving events. The 2024 Paris Olympics team of Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen were near perfect in their dives. Kassidy Cook said that the Chinese duo's performance pushed the American team of Cook and Sarah Bacon to greater heights:

“Obviously, we were diving behind the great team of China, so they were putting a lot of pressure on us. But seeing them hit their dives made us eager to hit our dives. I think that they made us better and I’m really happy to take away that silver,” Cook told NBC.

Cook expressed happiness about winning the medal, and about becoming the first American pair to do so in women’s synchronized 3m springboard, calling it an "even more awesome feeling."
