Riley Gaines, the former swimmer turned female athlete rights activist, lashed out at a transgender athlete recently after she was declared the winner of the 200-meter event at the Oregon State Championships.

Aayden Gallagher, a sophomore transgender runner for McDaniel High School, made waves in the track and field world after winning the Oregon Girls' 6A 200-meter sprint at the Oregon State Championships. The runner won the sprint by two-tenths of a second, but her crowning moment met with criticism, and she was booed by the fans after winning the state title in Eugene, Oregon.

Joining the list of critics was Riley Gaines, who is known for calling out transgender athletes publicly who compete in the women's categories. Gaines once again took notice of the incident, shared a long note on her X handle (formerly Twitter), and reflected on the sentiment of the girl athletes after Gallagher's name was announced as the winner.

Gaines wrote:

"Look at the girls on the podium applauding when 2nd place (the rightful winner) is announced. Then watch them when the boys name is announced. Stop saying girls are okay with this because they aren't. This is heartbreaking and deeply regressive."

Furthermore, Gaines also condemned Aayden's participation in the 400 meters in the same competitions, where she posted the fastest finish in the preliminary rounds but failed to win the finals.

Riley Gaines has been an advocate for female athletes for a while now, and she always remains steadfast to stand against any unjust happenings with women in sports and her protest against transgender athletes comeptiting in the women's category is not hidden.

A similar incident unfolded this year in January when Sadie Rose, a transgender athlete for Rochester Institute of Technology, was honored with the Liberty League Women's Track and Field Performer of the Week after her 200m, 300m, and 1600m relay triumphs in the indoor competitions.

The incident came to the radar of Riley Gaines, who challenged the recognition on her X handle, saying:

"Of course he did. Remember, men make the best women. And don't you forget it"

Riley Gaines had already tweeted before the above incident, and it was during the time when Sadie Rose broke two women's collegiate records.
