Simone Biles issued a strong statement for US President Joe Bide after Donald Trump's victory over Kamala Harris, asking him to shake things up before his tenure ends on January 20, 2025. The gymnast's stand on the controversial topic left social fans divided with some calling her out and others showing support.
Biles, the front runner of the US women's gymnastics team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, won gold medals in the team, all-around, and vault, and second finish in the floor exercise. She then set sail on the Gold Over America tour, which concluded on November 3, 2024, after touring across 30 US cities.
After the two-month-long pop-concert-style gymnastics tour, Biles sided with Democrat candidate Kamala Harris on Election Day, expressing her wish to witness the former take the helm of the White House. (via her Threads post)
However, Trump's win with 277 electoral votes left her in shock and prompted her to plead with US President Joe Biden to make some amendments before he steps down on January 20, 2025.
"Mr Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and make some things shake before your departure. xoxo the women in America," her strong caption read.
The message was not pleasing to a lot of fans, while others supported her. One fan said that the 27-year-old did not speak for all women.
"Nice directive. Unfortunately, you don’t speak for all women."
Another fan chimed in to slam Biles for her attempt to disunify people.
"Stop trying to divide people."
One fan sided with Biles' message, voicing the need to stop transgender women from sharing locker rooms with women.
"Good idea, he should get men out of women’s locker rooms to start."
Here are some other fan reactions:
"Did you call him “Mr.Biden” because you know he’s not really the President?" a fan commented.
"Why you lost. People are over this kind of stuff," a tweet read.
"Also yes he should protect women’s sports," commented a fan.
Simone Biles lashed out at US citizens for voting for Donald Trump

Taking to her Instagram story, Simone Biles shared a post to call out US citizens who voted for Republican candidate Donald Trump, since he was once accused of sexual abuse.
"Over 71 million people voted for a President that's been found liable for sexual abuse," the post read.
in response, Biles' comment on the story read:
"this y'all?" accompanied by a pointing finger and a couple of emojis showing distaste.

Simone Biles extended her Olympic medal tally to 11 in Paris, having missed a major part of the competition in Tokyo 2020, due to 'twisties'.
