The Texas native outpaced Justin Gatlin in the 100m at the 2021 Golden Spike and qualified in the same for his first Olympic Games in Tokyo, where he soared to the coveted silver in the finals, despite struggling with a persistent ankle issue. He added a 100m gold at the 2022 World Championships and continued the momentum in the 4x100m relay performance in the 2023 edition.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Fred Kerley finished with the 100m bronze behind Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson. He followed it up with a 100m win at the 2024 Silesia Diamond League. After a successful 2024 season, the double Olympian took to the track again.

He further claimed that Lyles' personal best time of 14.41s in the 150m was given to him illegitimately.

"They gave him that time, but anyways...you know what it is."

Kerley became one of the three men to run under 44 seconds in the 400m, under 20 seconds in the 200m, and under 10 seconds in the 100m. He joined the likes of Michael Norman and Wayde van Niekerk with his achievement.
