Mondo Duplantis attempted a fun challenge with his girlfriend, Desire Inglander. He recently ended his 2024 season with a victory at the Diamond League final in Brussels.

The pole vault Olympic champion delivered victorious performances, including the Paris Olympic wins and the Diamond League triumphs. His most recent and last performance of the season was during the Diamond League in Brussels, where he soared to the height of 6.11m in his first attempt and stopped, citing he was too tired to continue. The athlete capped his season following this win.

Days after ending his season, Duplantis was seen trying a new trend on social media with his girlfriend. Desire Inglander shared a video on her Instagram, where the couple was seen doing the famous "upside down" challenge. The post's caption read:

"Mission complete"

Duplantis broke his own world record three times this year and won all the competitions he participated in. The first time he surpassed a world record in 2024 was on April 20 at the Xiamen Diamond League and continued his streak at the Paris Olympics on August 5. He broke his record for a third time at the Silesia Diamond League on August 25.

Mondo Duplantis opened up about ending his 2024 season

Mondo Duplantis reflected on his last meet of the season in a post-race interview and opened up about not delivering a world record-breaking performance in his final appearance this year. He revealed that his "legs felt terrible" while he was performing and his race against Karsten Warholm took a lot of his energy.

"My legs felt terrible tonight and I'm just really tired. It's been a crazy couple of weeks: the race against Karsten and then I had to jump the day after," said Duplantis. "That took a lot more from my body than I expected. With 6.11 I got a good result, but the world record wasn't meant to be tonight. It's not easy to do better each time."

He added that he will drink some Belgian beers to celebrate his season.

"Now it's time to celebrate my beautiful season: I will drink some good Belgian beers tonight for sure."

Mondo Duplantis before his final match competed with the 400m hurdler Karsten Warholm in a friendly 100m dash, where he clocked 10.37s to gain the victory and the latter posted a time of 10.47s. Along with this, the Swedish athlete successfully clinched his second consecutive Olympic gold this year.
