Noah Lyles made a grand engagement proposal to his now-fiance, Jamaican athlete Junelle Bromfield, in the presence of friends and family. The latter, donning a glamorous outfit, enjoyed the special moment with friends.
Lyles announced the engagement on Instagram by uploading a video that showcased a beautiful setting with candles and rose petals, where the couple entered holding hands. Bromfield wore a shimmery silver-colored dress, and Lyles went down on one knee to propose. He captioned the video as:
"To My Future Wife I will Love You Forever."
Following this, the Jamaican athlete took to her Instagram and shared a video of her celebrating the special day with her friends, who were seen dancing and cheering her on as Bromfield flaunted her engagement ring. The caption of the video read:
"ENGAGED💍🥺 "
The couple met each other on social media in 2017, however, they decided to stay friends after not having an expected first date. Four years later, in 2022, Lyles gave it another shot with Bromfield and asked her out again, and ever since then, the couple have been together.
They made their relationship official in December 2022 through Instagram and started sharing multiple updates on social media on special occasions like their anniversaries or outings. After almost seven years of friendship, six months of dating, and two years of being in a relationship, the couple is now engaged.
"I hope to live with for many years"- Noah Lyles spoke about his future with Junelle Bromfield amidst online controversy
During and after the Paris Olympics, Junelle Bromfield received a lot of hate after Noah Lyles passed a bold statement, saying that he knew information about the Jamaican camp that nobody knew, and he credited Bromfield for the same. This irked the Jamaican fans, which led to immense hate towards his fiance.
Junelle and Lyles both appeared on Simone Clark's podcast, Sim Soul Sessions, where the American athlete opened up about being a hot topic for sharing conversations in the social space. He also said that he did not care about the hate but only about Bromfield, with whom he wanted to spend his life.
"It's no secret that I've had my share of conversations in the social space and I've been a hot topic for many months and years and unfortunately I didn't go out there with any ill intent and unfortunately I can't control how people take things," said Noah Lyles.
He added:
"But the first thing I wanna make sure is that Junelle is okay with everything because that's the person whom I care about. This is the person I hope to live with for many years and that's how I see it and I hope she sees it the same way.”
Noah Lyles had a successful 2024 season with his victorious Paris Olympics campaign, where he won a gold medal in the 100m dash and a bronze medal in the 200m dash, and it became more special after he got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield.
