The Simone Biles-led Gold Over America Tour is in full swing, and the gymnasts who are a part of the show are dealing with a hectic schedule. Recently, Peng Lee, Katelyn Ohashi, Joscelyn Roberson, and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos opened up about their life on tour and how they're managing their commitments.

Biles first introduced the Gold Over America Tour after the Tokyo Olympics, with the event becoming an immediate success. The 2021 iteration played 34 shows in 32 cities and grossed over 19 million dollars.

In 2024, Simone Biles revamped the ‘GOAT’ tour for a second edition, with nearly 20 gymnasts performing in 32 shows between September and November. Now, in an interview with SELF magazine, Lee, Ohashi, Roberson, and dos Santos opened up about their busy schedules.

"We sleep on the bus most nights [in built-in bunks]. Unless we have an off day, when we get to have a bed [in a hotel]. But it’s actually really fun because you go to bed and wake up with your girlfriends," Ohashi explained.

Lee chimed in to add that the gymnasts couldn't track of the days anymore, saying:

“I like to say that we’re living on 5% brain cells. We don’t really know what day it is anymore. Nighttime seems like daytime, and it’s just totally different than what you’re used to as an athlete."

Simone Biles on the Gold Over America Tour

For Simone Biles, the first Gold Over America Tour took place immediately after she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics to prioritize her well being. In like with that, the shows offered her the important opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of mental health.

However, Biles steps into this second iteration of the GOAT Tour fresh off of a successful campaign at the Paris Olympics, and is eager to spread the message that taking care of yourself is a stepping stone to success.

"Obviously (last time), we wanted to share that story of 'it's okay to not be okay’. But this one is the outcome of putting in that work, taking care of yourself, and where it gets you. It's just what happens after you take care of yourself and the success that brings. And so I think that's the exciting part about the story and what the show brings.”

Simone Biles and the Gold Over America Tour are currently in Austin, Texas, and they will move to Ohio next week. The shows will run till early November, ending in Detroit, Michigan.
