Riley Gaines took a dig at the Minnesota State High School League social media post by pointing out that they had switched off the comments as a transgender athlete was a part of the team.

"Comments off lol. To be expected when your star player is a boy," she wrote.

Simone Biles reacted to Gaines' comment and expressed her thoughts on the situation. The American gymnast shared that Gaines should try and uplift the trans community by finding a way to make sports inclusive or creating a new category for transgender athletes in sports.

Simone Biles lashed out at Riley Gaines for 'bullying' transgender athletes rather than finding a way to make sports more inclusive.

"You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans people feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!! But instead… You bully them… One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!" she wrote.

Riley Gaines called on Simone Biles and Caitlin Clark to take a stance on transgender athletes competing in women's sports in an interview with Fox News after the conclusion of the Paris Olympics. Gaines shared that popular athletes like Biles and Clark need to take a stance on the issue as they have pushed the limits as well as broken barriers in women's sports.

"People who I think would be critical to this movement are, of course, people like Caitlin Clark, people like Simone Biles, which I think is definitely a stretch, but these are women who have been able to shatter glass ceilings and break barriers, who are role models to young girls across the country," she said.

Moreover, Gaines shared that they are role models to young girls and hoped that they would take a stance on the issue.

"To have them emphatically say they [trans athletes] do not belong in women's sports would be, the issue would be solved across all levels, like yesterday, if they were willing to do this," she added.

Gaines shared that no major athlete had spoken on the issue so far, and athletes would come forward and address the issue that was affecting women's sports.
