Christian Miller is an upcoming track and field star. He made history at the age of 17 as he became the youngest man ever to dip under the 10-second mark in the 100m.

Competing at the Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Clermont, Florida, Miller raced to a wind-legal 9.93, en route to multiple records and the top spot on the podium.

He not only became the youngest person ever to break the elusive 10-second barrier, but also claimed the moniker of the fastest American under 20. Trayvon Bromell held the previous national U20 record with a time of 9.97 in 2014.

Additionally, this 9.93 bumped Miller up to third place in the all-time World U20 list. Surinam's Issam Asinga is leading the chart with a 9.80 set in July 2023 and Botswanian Letsile Tebogo is in second place with a 9.91 clocked in 2022.

The sprinter is currently a senior a Creekside High School in Florida. In November last year, the 17-year-old was the country's No.1 prospect in track and field and signed his letter of intent with the University of Georgia.

Christian Miller's other achievements

Christian Miller first came into the spotlight in July 2023, when he competed at the USA U20 Championships. On track in Eugene, Oregan, the youngster stormed to victory in the 100m and 200m sprints, setting new personal bests in both events. The 10.06 he clocked for his gold in the 100m was also good enough to set a world under-18 record.

Miller had shown the track world he had potential even before winning the USA U20 Championships. In 2022, the youngster climbed onto the podium for a silver in the 100m at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals on the Percy Beard Track in Gainesville, Florida. He won the 200m at the same event.

A month later, the American again showed his prowess in the longer sprinting distance, clinching the 200m gold at the New Balance Nationals in Franklin Field, Philadelphia.

Miller kicked off his 2024 season with a silver in the 60m at the Air Force Last Chance event, before winning the 100m at the Pepsi Florida Relays in March.
