Podcaster Alex Cooper has accused her former college coach of s*xual harassment. In her new docuseries, Call Her Alex, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival in New York City on Sunday, June 8, 2025, Cooper made allegations against her Boston University (BU) soccer coach, Nancy Feldman.
In the show, the 30-year-old podcaster explained that she was a top soccer player in high school and attended Boston University on a full scholarship. However, she alleged that during her sophomore year, she began noticing Feldman starting to "fixate" on her.
"(It was) way more than any other teammate of mine, and it was confusing because the focus wasn’t like, ‘You’re doing so well, let’s get you on the field, you’re gonna be a starter,’" she claimed.
"(It) was all based in her wanting to know who I was dating, her making comments about my body and her always wanting to be alone with me."
According to Alex Cooper's profile on the Go Terriers page (the name of BU's varsity athletic teams), she played for the university between 2013 and 2015.
"The minute I stepped back on the field, I felt so small"—Alex Cooper about returning to BU after graduating
The director of the docuseries, Ry Russo-Young, asked Alex Cooper to walk onto the BU soccer field and reflect on her time there. Noting that the matter changed her "life forever" and "took away" the thing she loved the most, the podcaster stated:
"The minute I stepped back on the field, I felt so small. I felt just like I was 18 years old again. And I was in a situation with someone in a position of power who abused their power."
Cooper noted that she initially "was determined" to make a name for herself on the field. Therefore, when Coach Nancy Feldman began paying "extra attention," she dismissed it.
"I figured it was probably because I was playing well," Cooper stated.
She detailed the alleged harassment she suffered at the hands of Feldman for three years. This reportedly included making comments on her legs and putting hands on the podcaster's thighs. The 30-year-old claimed that the coach even asked her if she had s*x the night before during a private meeting.
"It was this psychotic game of you wanna play? Tell me about your s*x life, I have to drive you to your night class, get in the car with me alone."
Cooper alleged that, as a result, she started avoiding Feldman by spending less time with her, taking different routes to practice, and sitting far away from the coach during meetings.
Feldman reportedly retaliated by benching the podcaster, who was ultimately kicked off the team during her senior year. Alex Cooper also added that she reached out to university officials for help, but they "dismissed" her claims against Coach Feldman. She noted that there was no investigation into the matter.
The podcaster reasoned that because she was attending BU on a "full-tuition scholarship," she felt compelled to follow Nancy's "rules."
"I was attending BU on a full-tuition scholarship. If I didn’t follow this woman's rules, I was gone," Alex Cooper stated.
The Call Her Daddy host claimed she brought the harassment to her parents' notice, who contacted lawyers during Alex's final year. However, they were advised that BU would drag out a case for years. Notably, Cooper and her family provided written documentation of Feldman's inappropriate interactions to the university's athletics officials.
According to People magazine, Nancy Feldman ultimately retired in 2022. Notably, the city declared December 11 “Nancy Feldman Day”—up until her retirement.
Meanwhile, Alex Cooper did not play soccer during her senior year. Nevertheless, the university allowed her to retain her scholarship. Noting that Feldman "turned" something Cooper loved into something "extremely painful," the podcaster stated in her documentary:
"I felt a lot of anger—anger at my coach, anger at my school, and anger at the system that allowed this to happen. I don’t think anyone could’ve prepared me for the lasting effects that came from this experience."
Per People, following the documentary's premiere, Alex Cooper held a Q&A session in which she revealed her decision to go public with her story, as the issue still persists at the university.
Cooper, for her part, has since started the podcast Call Her Daddy. The show is known for advocating female s*xual agency. Reflecting on her time revisiting Boston University for the first time since graduating, she stated.
"When I look back at that time in my life, I was scared, hopeless. I had no resources and no options. And the minute I left that campus, I was so determined to find a way where no one could ever silence me again."
Boston University has not publicly addressed Cooper's allegations.
Call Her Alex will be available to stream on Hulu starting June 10.
