What did the coaches say about Cameron Wright's audition on The Voice?
Minneapolis native Cameron Wright sang Barbra Streisand's The Way We Were on the fifth night of Blind Auditions on The Voice. Their performance compelled all four coaches to turn their chairs. Cameron had only started to sing when Michael Bublé and Gwen Stefani hit their red buttons. Within seconds, Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg also turned their chairs.
Raised by a Gospel-singing mother, Cameron's singing techniques were heavily influenced by the music they grew up listening to. Mesmerized by the "spectacular" performance, country legend Reba said:
"That was spectacular - one of my favorite songs...And boy, you sang the heck out of it! This ain't your first rodeo, is it?"
The Voice coach Gwen was equally wowed. She complimented Cameron, saying, "You just came in and sliced the air out of the room." She added that every moment of the performance was "perfect," especially how they sang it. She was also impressed by their "insane" stage presence.
On the other hand, Michael confessed Cameron's "sensational" singing made them "one of the greatest singers" he had ever heard. He also said:
"Cameron, I love your voice - and we all know you have a beautiful voice...But my favorite part about you is that God gave you a light that pours out of you. And you can't buy it; you can't bottle it!"
Cameron was moved by Michael's remark and ultimately chose him as their coach. After making the choice, Cameron revealed that Michael's comment resonated with them, making them realize, "That's my Coach!"
The Voice season 26 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8 pm ET only on NBC.
