"Dead wrong"— Dancing with the Stars fans react to Chandler and Brandon finishing in third place

Dancing with the Stars season 33 found the show's latest Mirrorball Trophy champions this week on November 26, 2024. The segment saw the final five perform on the ABC reality show one last time before the show crowned its latest Mirrorball champions.

Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson were named the winners while Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten became the runner-ups of the season. Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong finished 3rd while Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold placed 4th. Danny Amendola and Witney Carson finished 5th.

Fans of the ABC reality show chimed in on the final placement and were upset to see Chandler and Brandon finished third. One person wrote on X:

Dancing with the Stars fans called Chandler and Brandon's final placement "absurd":

"black women have to work ten times harder than anyone else to get treated equally and yet they never get the acknowledgment they deserve. chandler has proven all season she was the best dancer there. she put her everything into every single week. third place is absurd," a fan commented.

Fans of Dancing with the Stars season 33 further said:

"Even if Chandler didn't win, she should've gotten at least second. Like what????? Seriously, I don't understand," a person wrote.

"If anything it should’ve been between Chandler and Joey with Chandler winning. But if this is based on popularity HOW did Joey win over Ilona???? Somethings not adding up," a fan commented.

Dancing with the Stars season 33 finale saw Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong pay tribute to those who came before them. Ahead of their performance, Brandon explained that he and Chandler were the first "Black couple" to make it to the finale. The professional dancer told Chandler he wanted to celebrate "all the Black performers" before the two of them.

The two danced freestyle to Hellzapoppin' by Eyal Vilner Big Bang and Move on Up by Curtis Mayfield and earned praise from the Dancing with the Stars season 33 judges. Carrie Ann Inaba stood up from her seat while talking to the contestants.

"Not only was that beyond impressive, that was important," she said.

The judge thanked the Dancing with the Stars season 33 contestant for making the moment matter. She added that she didn't know if Chandler would ever know the impact of her performance. However, Carrie Ann corrected herself and said that Chandler knew its impact and said "representation" mattered.

"You have changed the future for people to come," she added.

Fans of Dancing with the Stars commented on Chandler's overall performance in the season 33 finale and were upset to see her finish in 3rd place.
