The Voice season 26 episode 5: Mary McAvoy's performs Say You Love Me in Blind Auditions
With only one Blind Auditions episode remaining out of the 6 total episodes, The Voice coaches got more reluctant to turn their chairs as only a few spots remained in each of their teams. Getting multiple chair turns at this point was a huge feat, however, Mary McAvoy managed to achieve it.
Mary, a 35-year-old from Walpole, Massachusetts, became one of the eleven contestants selected to proceed further in episode 5. Her voice enchanted Michael and Snoop, as they turned their chairs in the first few seconds of her performance.
When Gwen saw Mary after her act, the coach said she didn't look the way she sounded. Explaining the reason for a no-chair turn from her, Gwen shared that she had issues with her tuning. Reba praised Snoop and Michael for turning for her and said that she promised to steal Mary later.
Snoop said he was ready to gamble on Mary and mentioned:
"I'll coach and I'll listen."
Michael echoed Gwen's sentiments and stated he also noticed problems with her pitch. But the coach added that he could help her eliminate those.
Snoop and Michael then tried persuading Mary to choose their teams. Mary ended up selecting Snoop's clan because he was the first person to turn his chair for her. With this, Mary became the second contestant to join Team Snoop in episode 5 of The Voice season 26. The first was 17-year-old Eliza Pryor, and the third was 32-year-old Deon Jones.
