Vanderpump Rules is not over, as season 12 of the hit Bravo TV reality show is officially a go, but some major changes are coming, including an entirely new group of cast members. The network announced on Tuesday, November 26, via a press release that they have scrapped the entire cast of the Emmy-nominated reality TV series and that there's a "new group" fans will be seeing in the next season.

The press release teased a new group joining Lisa Vanderpump for season 12, saying:

"Raise your glasses high as Bravo orders another round of "Vanderpump Rules" with a greenlight of season 12. The new season will feature Lisa Vanderpump and a new group of close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors."

The release called Vanderpump the "West Hollywood mainstay SUR" and mentioned that she and "Tom Tom" will welcome the "next batch of servers, hosts, and bartenders" in the upcoming season. It also teased "plenty of drama, situationship, and frenemies" in the brand new cast members. Lisa Vanderpump weighed in on the refresh of the cast, saying:

"In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of 'Vanderpump Rules.'"

Executive producer 32 Flavors' Alex Baskin said this about the upcoming season in the press release:

"With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can't wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together."

Bravo is celebrating Vanderpump Rules' past 11 seasons amid season 12 updates

Besides the shocking news of a new cast lineup for Vanderpump Rules season 12, Bravo also announced in the press release that they will have a special to celebrate the show's past 11 seasons. The release reads:

"Vanderpump Rules will celebrate the past decade of heartbreaks, friendship rifts, and scandals with a retrospective special highlighting the past 11 seasons."

The special would be another chance for fans to get a glimpse of OG cast members like Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, Jax Taylor, Stassi Schroeder, Kirsten Doute, and other series regulars like Lala Kent, Raquel Leviss, Ariana Madix, and more.

As for Lisa Vanderpump, she also recalled the last 11 seasons of the reality show in the release. She was quoted saying how it had been an "extraordinary run full of laughter, tears, and everything in between."

The show had been put on pause and went on hiatus before the May 2024 reunion, which Baskin told The Hollywood Reporter on May 28 was "the harder season" that they've had to make. The reality series usually starts production in May and films the new season throughout the summer, but there's been a schedule change.

Bravo personality Andy Cohen gave some context about the schedule change on his podcast on May 2. Although he's not directly involved in the show, he likened it to The Real Housewives, where he is the franchise host and executive producer. He said:

"We used to do this all the time with the Housewives... We would say, 'You know what? Let's put cameras for four or five months and come back to them and they will have lived their lives, things will be different."

Season 12 of the hit reality series is reportedly going to start production next year, and the complete cast list and the premiere date will be announced at a later date.
