With the launch of Love Is Blind Habibi, reality TV fans witnessed eligible Arab singles vying to find the love of their lives by partaking in the experiment in the pods. The reality series premiered on October 10, 2024, and features singles from MENA countries like Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Iraq, and Syria.
The cast of Love Is Blind Habibi included Karma, Ammar, Dounia, Chafic, Mohammad, Safa, Rami, Hajar, Asma, Karim, Sarah, Khatab, Yasmin, Mido, Nour, Ali, Aljawharah, Simo, Shereen, and Rakan.
As the singles got to know each other, some enjoyed getting to know other singles and were able to connect on a deeper level. While some others couldn't fathom being in the same vicinity with each other. The latter situation happened on various occasions for one such participant, Simo. He walked out on multiple occasions when he did not like what he was hearing from the female participants.

By episode 3, despite his strong opinions, Simo was able to connect with Hajar in Love Is Blind Habibi and the two sat down for a 2-hour conversation in the pods. Although the conversation was pleasant at first, Simo gifted her a handwritten poem that touched Hajar. As the two got comfortable, Hajar initiated the topic of a bachelorette party and that's when things went south.
She revealed that she would like to do something crazy and gave an example of wanting to taste a cake before going on a diet. This irked Simo immensely as he claimed that this sort of thing was not present in his principles and values, and would not do something of this "low level". Hajar realized that she made a mistake and apologized to Simo for her comments.
"Sorry for choosing something low to say... I really want you to go in a good mood. Sorry, sorry, sorry. It's not gonna happen again," stated Hajar.
Simo and Hajar mend their differences and advance to the next phase of Love Is Blind Habibi
The Love Is Blind Habibi couple eventually managed to squash their differences as Simo explained that they had a lot of things in common including their nationalities and divorced parents. Simo eventually proposed to Hajar, which she accepted. The couple were among the 5 couples who got engaged on the show as they next stayed in a retreat together.
During episode 4 titled Catching Up With Cupid, the couple went on a date in which Hajar stated her desire to live in Dubai after marriage. Simo found this problematic as he had his family business in Morocco and wanted his future bride-to-be to stay with him, in his home country. Hajar on her part expressed that her family was in Morocco and it would take away her freedom.
Hajar got frustrated by Simo's "perfect" answers and accused him of having a big ego. The latter accepted this as a fact and expressed his desire to fix that in the future. Things got further heated when Hajar made a backhanded comment about the waitress for bringing the food late, which Simo pointed out as being rude and conceded that he would walk away if it happened again.
On another date, the Love Is Blind Habibi couple butted heads again as Simo expressed that a night out would be banned for Hajar. He explained that he didn't see the point in not going out together if they were married. The couple eventually broke up when Simo decided to leave the retreat without telling Hajar.
