Love is Blind UK season 1 was released on Netflix on August 7, 2024. The platform aired the first four episodes of the social experiment, which is the debut of the UK version of the dating show. Love is Blind UK features 30 singles looking for their potential matches through a series of blind dates. They get to see their partner only after they feel a connection and choose one of the participants.
The first episode of the show featured Jasmine, a 29-year-old mental health nurse who went on dates with two of the male participants. This includes Sam, 31, a product design manager, and Bobby, 33, a luxury shopping guide.
Jasmine had two dates with Sam, followed by one date with Bobby. After her date with Bobby, Love is Blind UK star Jasmine shared her concerns with her fellow participant, Priya. Jasmine shared:
"I had a date with Bobby, and it went really well. Even though I had a really, really good date with Sam. But something’s telling me it’s just not a go."

During their first date, Jasmine initiated the conversation and asked Sam to share something about him. He told her that he liked spending quality time with his family and that his sister had a little kid, so he knew that he wanted kids.
She replied that being with his sister’s kid prepared him for fatherhood, which Sam acknowledged and added that he would be a great father. Jasmine also shared a similar interest and told him that she loves to look after people. She shared more with Sam:
"I care for people as a living, and I can’t wait to be a mom."
She also shared that she loves cuddles and kisses. Sam replied that he had been told he was quite a good kisser.
When Sam shared that he thinks that girls don’t give him a chance, Jasmine asked him why. His answer was that they (people) might look at his profile, like his Instagram, or see him in a bar and think he’s looking for a one-night stand.
Hearing that, Jasmine asked whether he felt like he had been giving f**kboy energy, to which he said no. He told Jasmine that he didn’t go around chatting to a girl and that he was a big kid who wanted to have fun and love someone. He then told her to remember him by “It’s Sam from London.”
Love is Blind UK episode 1 also saw the duo later having their second date, where Sam initiated the conversation and told Jasmine that he “really” wanted to see her again and asked her how she felt. Jasmine told him that she had a few doubts about some of the comments that he made. And then she mentioned “the Instagram thing.” She told him:
"You were like, 'Oh, people may perceive me, you know, as something different.' "
He then shared that he had done six months of training and that his body was in good condition. He added:
"Beauty is just skin-deep. I believe what’s inside is more important," which Jasmine liked.
He then shared in confessional that Jasmine was incredible and that, since the first day on Love is Blind UK, he had those butterflies in his stomach. It was because she matched what he was looking for.
Jasmine’s date with Bobby in Love is Blind UK season 1 sees them open up about their families
Bobby asked Jasmine to share a bit about herself. She revealed she is a mental health nurse and asked the same question. Bobby then shared that he is a luxury shopping guide on board cruise ships. Seeing his profession, she asked Bobby if he traveled often; Bobby agreed and answered, “Yeah.”
However, he added that he didn’t want to work on ships forever and was ready to move away from that lifestyle.
She then asked Bobby what was most important for him in a relationship. Bobby answered that for him, someone who he can vibe with and connect with on all levels, someone who is not just a partner but also a friend. He shared:
"I’m very caring, very empathetic. I’m close to my family, mainly, like, my mom. You know, I come from a single-parent background."
He added that he was raised by his mother and was a family person. On the other hand, Jasmine also shared that she is close to her mom and that they’re “like best friends.” Bobby continued that he also wants to have a family of his own, hopefully soon.
Jasmine shared her views on family:
"I ideally would want to, you know, raise children in a household where our foundation is on a hundred. Because at the end of the day, they’re gonna learn our dynamics."
Bobby joked and said, “Mine and yours,” and they laughed a lot.
Later, Bobby shared in the Love is Blind UK confession:
"Being in a room with Jasmine is just a really trusting environment. She’s super caring. I feel like I can be myself, and she does share the same qualities in terms of what I’m looking for in a potential wife."
He ended their date with, “We should do it again sometime,” to which Jasmine replied, "Yeah, definitely."
Later that day, in the first episode of Love is Blind UK, Jasmine shared her thoughts with fellow participant Priya. Jasmin told her she had a date with Bobby, which went "really well." Jasmine added that she also had a "really, really good date" with Sam. However, she felt like it was a no-go.
