This episode will cover the case, its many perpetrators, and the many twists and turns in the tale. Though the case yielded as many as six suspects, we are still not certain if the case has been solved entirely.

Ahead of the episode, let us take a look at some of the most haunting details of Holly Bobo's disappearance.

5 haunting details from Holly Bobo's murder

1) Holly Bobo's brother saw her with a man in their garage but did not take action because he thought it was her boyfriend

On the morning of April 13, 2011, Holly Bobo's neighbor informed her mother that they heard a scream from their house. This also woke up Clint, who saw his sister kneeling down in the garage with another man in camouflage clothes. But he thought it was her boyfriend, Drew Scott, and hence did not do anything when his mother called him and asked him to shoot whoever the intruder was.

He later saw this man and Holly Bobo walking towards the woods and disappearing.

2) Holy Bobo's body wasn't found for years

After her disappearance, the 20-year-old nurse's body wasn't found for a long, long time, despite a lot of work put into the investigation. It was only in September 2014, years after the disappearance, that the authorities found Bobo's body. The remains were discovered by ginseng hunters in a wooded area of northern Decatur County, Tennessee.

The remains were reportedly found in a bucket. The cause of death was determined to be a bullet through the skull.

3) As many as six people were arrested for the case but not all of them made it to the final stage

Zach Adams, his brother Dylan Adams, and friends Jason Autry, Shayne Kyle Austin, Jeffrey Pearcy, and his brother Mark Pearcy were all arrested for varying charges, with Zach being the center of the focus.

Throughout the investigation, multiple conflicting narratives emerged from the suspects, with no way of knowing what actually happened.

Zach, Dylan, and Autry were the ones who were ultimately charged and sentenced, with Zach receiving a life term with no possibility of parole while the Pearcy brothers were let go entirely.

4) One of the suspects in the case committed suicide

Shayne Kyle Austin, who prosecutors claim was the one Clint Bobo saw in their house on the fateful day, took his life in February 2015 in a hotel room in Bartow, Florida. Austin's attorney later blamed this suicide on the charges against his client.

5) There is also an assault angle to the case that has seen several twists

Throughout the varying narratives, there have been several mentions of r*pe. The final narrative the prosecutors presented claimed that the Adams brothers and Autry r*ped Holly Bobo in a local farmhouse before killing her.

There were also claims that Zach Adams had r*ped and filmed Holly. Despite many claims, this video was neither found nor confirmed. Either way, Zach Adams was charged for s*xually assaulting Holly Bobo in his sentencing.

This complex case will be the subject of People Magazine Presents: Crimes Of The 2010s season 1 episode 2 on August 20, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
