Dark Winds season 3: Everything we know so far

Ever since AMC announced Dark Winds season 3, there have been constant developments in the production of the series, which has kept audiences excited. The most recent update reveals that filming for the long-awaited third installment of the hit series is nearly complete and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2025.

The confirmation came from an Instagram post by AMC Network on July 10, 2024, featuring Kim Gordon. The post was captioned:

"#DarkWinds is almost done filming Season 3 in beautiful New Mexico! What are you hoping to see from this season...?"

When is Dark Winds season 3 scheduled for release?

During the time of the announcement of Dark Winds season 3 on September 19, 2023, AMC had set a target date for its premiere in the first half of 2025. Filming for the show began on April 10, 2024, and had almost concluded by July 2024.

That being said, according to the official New Mexico Film Office website, the show is still in production. However, despite that, the idea of meeting the target release date for the show's third season does not seem too unrealistic.

What will Dark Winds season 3 be about?

Dark Winds season 3's plot is expected to pick up where season 2 left off. According to an official synopsis provided by AMC, season 3 will pick up six months after the events of season 2. It will follow:

"...Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Gordon) as they investigate the disappearance of two boys, with only an abandoned bicycle and blood-stained patch of ground left in their wake."

In the meantime:

"...Bernadette Manuelito (Matten) attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol, but stumbles across a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling with far-reaching implications."

Where to stream episodes of Dark Winds season 3?

Episodes of season 3 of Dark Winds are expected to be released exclusively on AMC+. Additionally, as has been the case for the previous seasons, there is a strong possibility that the upcoming season will become available on other streaming platforms as well.
