A recap of FUBAR season 1

Luke Brunner, a 65-year-old CIA operative nearing retirement, was assigned a dangerous mission in Guyana to rescue a fellow secret agent known by the code name "Panda." To his shock, he discovered that Panda was actually his estranged daughter, Emma (Monica Barbaro), and both were stunned to learn each other’s true identities.

They were then tasked with stopping notorious arms dealer Boro Polonia (Gabriel Luna), working alongside a team of operatives. What followed was an action-packed adventure filled with comical misunderstandings and chaos, as the team tried to uncover a mole within their ranks while taking down Boro.

Luke handled the mission with extra caution due to his personal history with Boro. Years earlier, Luke had thrown Boro’s father, Omar, off a cliff during a mission and later acted as a surrogate father to Boro, even enrolling him in a boarding school in London. Despite this, Boro followed in his father’s footsteps and became a dangerous arms dealer with access to a portable WMD.

Luke’s team eventually tracked Boro to an abandoned nuclear power plant, where Emma was trapped with Boro due to an explosion. Together, Luke and Emma escaped and fled the scene, leaving Boro presumed dead at the plant.

The finale revealed that Tina (Aparna Brielle), the NSA data analyst on Luke's team, was the mole recruited by Russia, exposed through a phone call from the Russians. She was then recalled to NSA headquarters.

Afterward, the father-daughter duo arrived at the wedding of Luke’s ex-wife, Tally (Fabiana Udenio). Following his recent retirement, Luke's final mission became personal—he tried to win Tally back before she could marry Donnie (Andy Buckley). He finally confessed his secret CIA identity to her, admitting that his career had caused him to neglect their marriage.

His declaration of love was cut short by the sudden reappearance of Boro, who had survived the explosion. He planted a bomb in Tally’s car, which accidentally detonated, and his men stormed the church, opening fire on the guests. Luke and Emma fought back, leading to total chaos. As the dust settled, Boro entered with Tally held hostage and a gun to her head.

He offered to release Tally on one condition: Luke and Emma had to shoot each other. Tally, however, grabbed the medal Luke had given her and stabbed Boro in the thigh. Luke and Emma then shot him down.

Immediately after, CIA officials contacted the pair, telling them they had to go into hiding now that their identities were exposed. Tally, shocked, was taken into CIA care. FUBAR ended with the group being escorted to safety as the episode came to a close.

Season 2 of FUBAR will be available to stream on Netflix with a relevant subscription this Thursday, June 12, 2025.
