The third season of MGM+’s horror series, FROM, wrapped up on November 24, 2024, leaving fans stunned and filled with questions about the show's future. Throughout its 10 episodes, season 3 delivered shocking twists, answered some long-standing mysteries, and introduced even more layers of confusion.

On November 22, 2024, just two days before the season 3 finale aired, MGM+ officially announced the renewal of the series for a fourth season. So, FROM is not ending after season 3. The announcement came from MGM+'s leadership, including Michael Wright, who praised the show for its growing popularity and its ability to keep fans guessing.

To mark the occasion, a video featuring Harold Perrineau, the show’s lead actor, was shared on social media. In the clip, Perrineau retrieves a message from one of the show’s signature bottle trees, reading, “Season 4, Coming Soon.”

Season 4, like its predecessors, is set to feature 10 episodes. Filming is set to begin in 2025, with the premiere expected in 2026.

The season began with Tabitha Matthews returning to the real world after escaping the town via a Faraway Tree in season 2. However, her return was far from peaceful, as her connection to the town's mysteries deepened.

Meanwhile, Boyd Stevens, the town’s sheriff, faced an increasingly sinister atmosphere. The creatures tormenting the town grew more aggressive, and new threats emerged, leaving everyone on edge.

A major focus of the season was Fatima’s pregnancy, which turned out to be far more horrifying than anyone expected. Instead of a child, Fatima was carrying a reborn version of the Smiley creature, revealing that the monsters were once human and had sacrificed their children for immortality. It was revealed that these creatures can be reborn through such pregnancies, adding another layer of dread.

Jim Matthews made a breakthrough by decoding the numbers in the bottle tree messages as musical notes. This led to a haunting revelation when Jade played the tune on his violin. The act triggered memories in both Jade and Tabitha, revealing they were reincarnations of Christopher and Miranda, previous residents of the town who had failed to save the trapped children.

The introduction of the Man in Yellow in the season finale shocked viewers. This figure, linked to the town's dark secrets, brutally killed Jim, marking a turning point for the show. The season also explored time travel, with Julie Matthews attempting to alter events but learning that the timeline couldn’t be changed. As season 3 ended, the town’s cyclical nature became clearer, leaving characters and viewers desperate for more answers.

What to expect from season 4?

Following the events of season 3, the story is expected to explore the newly revealed cyclical nature of the town, where residents like Tabitha and Jade have been reincarnated multiple times, trying and failing to save the children. Now that Tabitha and Jade remember their past lives, season 4 could focus on their efforts to finally break the cycle, potentially unraveling the origins of the town and its horrifying inhabitants.

The Man in Yellow, who emerged as the central antagonist, is poised to play a major role. His connection to the creatures, the town, and the residents needs further exploration. Julie’s newfound ability to time travel adds another layer to the story. Her attempt to save her father, Jim, who was killed by the Man in Yellow, suggests that she could play a key role in finding a way to alter events and disrupt the repeating timeline.

With the rebirth of the Smiley creature, the danger intensifies, and the survivors will need to find a way to combat the monsters’ immortality. Season 4 will likely see the residents working together, using their shared knowledge to uncover the truth and fight back against the growing darkness.
