Prime Video has officially greenlighted Silent River, a thriller drama series starring John Krasinski and Matthew Rhys. Both actors are also on board as executive producers. Krasinski and Rhys have received acclaim for their work in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and The Americans, respectively.
They take on the lead roles in Silent River, which explores some unsettling discoveries within a small-town community. The series revolves around two men whose lives are somehow linked because of a serial killer who is roaming in their town. The logline for the show reads:
“Through the lens of two men, whose lives are far more connected than they realize, Silent River explores the cracks of small-town America in the wake of discovering a serial killer among them.”
The creative team behind Silent River
In a press release, Amazon MGM Studios stated that Aaron Rabin, known for Jack Ryan and Marvel's Secret Invasion, is the creator of the project and will also be working as executive producer for the show. As director and executive producer along with Rabin is Andrew Bernstein, who has worked as director for both Jack Ryan and The Americans.

Krasinski, whose Sunday Night production banner is behind the series, has expanded his first-look TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios. As a director and star in A Quiet Place, Krasinski brings his background in building suspenseful stories to this project.
Matthew Rhys, who won an Emmy for playing a role in The Americans, is acting and executing the production of Silent River with Krasinski. Rhys has also been associated with other high-profile projects and is currently working on Netflix's The Beast in Me and BBC One's Towards Zero. Their aggregate experience is expected to ensure that this is more than just your run-of-the-mill crime drama.
