It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Plot

The four characters in the series are always scheming to make a quick buck. However, most of their plans tend to backfire often, making it a humorous scenario. They also do not seem to learn from their mistakes.

The Gang members also derive sadistic pleasure in each other's misery. In some episodes, viewers can see the characters inebriated with alcohol, exploiting the welfare system by pretending to be disabled to make some quick cash, impersonating police officers, or robbing graves.

The characters' half-baked plans result in them being embroiled in painfully embarrassing situations that make it a worthwhile watch for fans.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has reportedly amassed a significant fan following because of their depraved yet funny antics.

Despite their flaws, the characters share a unique friendship. Apart from hilarious dialogues, the series also uses physical comedy and body language to draw laughs.

On the popular reviewing platform Rotten Tomatoes, the TV show has received a 94% rating.

The official synopsis of the series is:

"Depraved underachieving might look easy, but for the egocentric Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Frank and Dee, it's an art form. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows The Gang, the owners of the unsuccessful Paddy's Pub; a group of degenerates who loves nothing more than to scheme, conspire, and mostly revel in each other's misery."
