Godfrey was introduced as a TV journalist with a sharp tongue who helped Lex Luthor's (played by Michael Cudlitz) quest to ruin Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). Gordon Godfrey's character in Superman & Lois season 4

In Superman & Lois season 4, Gordon Godfrey was shown as a charming but morally unclear television host. His show turned into a battleground for truth and manipulation.

Godfrey gained attention when Lex Luthor hired him to make Superman and Lois Lane look unfair and untrustworthy. He used his platform to push Lex's plans, only showing the public one side of the story.

Drawing inspiration from DC Comics, where the character is known as Glorious Godfrey, a New God who works for Darkseid, the show changes him into a more realistic but still very sneaky person.

In the comics, Godfrey is famous for using his convincing abilities to create distrust and chaos, and his version in Superman & Lois season 4 does the same when dealing with people in Metropolis.

Cavanagh’s acting brings the character to life, mixing charm with danger as Godfrey influences public thoughts. His role not only serves as a nod to DC’s long history but also as a reminder of the power of media in shaping perceptions, making him a fitting addition to the final season’s narrative arc.
