Will there be a Tulsa King season 2? Renewal status and everything we know so far

Cowboys and mafias have never mixed together as well as they do in Taylor Sheridan's acclaimed Paramount+ drama, Tulsa King, and with season 2 on the way, fans can get to see more of Dwight and company soon. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger in January 2023, much to the chagrin of many fans, who were eager to see whether their questions would be answered.

Thankfully, they do not have to worry as Tulsa King season 2 is on its way. Paramount+ announced the renewal a little while ago, and for fans eager to get into the series, it is the perfect time to do so and catch up on the plot.

Will Tulsa King Season 2 happen?

Aside from the official announcement of the renewal, there is further proof pertaining to the renewal of Tulsa King Season 2. Production on this Sylvester Stallone-starrer has already begun, with many on-set photos already circulating online. In fact, Stallone himself confirmed the same by posting a photograph of himself in a black shirt and blue coat on Instagram, with the caption:

"Ringing the Bell on location for TULSA KING part two…"

Tulsa King season 2 was announced only after three episodes, per Screenrant. This also makes sense, as the story of Dwight is far from over.

While nothing concrete is known about when the season will drop, fans are expecting a date towards the latter half of 2024, especially as April 2024 brought the news that filming had already begun.

What will be the plot of Tulsa King Season 2?

Tulsa King is a story about a mobster, Dwight, played by Sylvester Stallone, and is set in the heart of Tulsa in Oklahoma. Dwight is forced into exile in Tulsa following a prison sentence, but given his lofty ambitions, he soon assembles a crew of misfits, builds his own little family, and attempts to take over his new city.

While initially it seemed like Dwight's journey would take him to a happy ending, a wrench was thrown into his plans when he was captured by the FBI. Thus, season 1 ended with Dwight being taken away in handcuffs, before the eyes of his daughter Tina.

Tulsa King Season 2 is expected to resume from here, and while there are speculations about what will happen, Dwight's opposition to the law, balanced with his family ties, makes his return to the show and resuming his position as Tulsa's mobster imminent. However, his daughter might have reservations about her father's imprisonment, thus introducing a plot complication.

Sylvester Stallone and Tatiana Zappardino are set to resume the roles of Dwight Manfredi and his estranged daughter Tina, respectively. The other characters include Frank Grillo, who is a new addition to the cast. It is likely that he will play the role of Bill Bevilqua, who will serve as the antagonistic monster of Kansas City.

Additionally, Annabella Sciorra has been promoted to a series regular, along with Tatiana. In season 1, Annabella played the role of Joanne, Dwight Manfredi's sister.
