Jimmy has already shared the reason behind the choice of his YouTube channel's name. During an interview, when asked about the origins of his name, he revealed that he chose it because it was a randomly generated Gamertag ID on Xbox. He said:

"That was just my Xbox Gamertag when I was younger. So it gives you a random name and mine was like MrBeast6000 and then I just dropped the 6000."

He also revealed that the name had undergone multiple changes and variations such as Jimmy changing his name to "MrRandom" since his videos were spontaneously made.

"All throughout the years, it used to be Beast. At one point I was MrRandom, 'cause my videos were so random. Then I was like, 'That's cringe.' So, I went back to MrBeast6000 then Beast6000 then I dropped the 6000. Then I went to MrBeast and I was like, 'Okay, this is cool'."

He also explained that there was another channel with the name 'Beast,' meaning that this particular channel would appear on the search bar while looking up Jimmy's channel. Hence, he settled for "MrBeast."

"There was a channel called Beast and when you would search 'Beast,' it would pop up before me, so I was like, 'cr*p.' So I put the 'Mr' back on and then I just kept it."
