Twitch streamer Kai Cenat is currently hosting comedian Druski and actor Kevin Hart in his ongoing Mafiathon 2 event. However, one particular moment from Cenat's latest stream has gone viral and garnered criticism. For context, while Taiwanese Twitch streamer Ray "Rayasianboy" was introducing himself in front of the live audience, Druski ended up seemingly making a racist joke.
Druski first urged Ray to be himself, stating that he should speak in his language. A few seconds later, he ended up uttering gibberish, trying to imitate an Asian accent. Realizing his words came out wrong, Druski quickly said:
"Nah, that was too much. My bad, ay, I ain't gonna lie. Erase that, I might get canceled (Kai Cenat responds, "No, it's live"). I'm sorry, hey, Ray. I'm sorry, dawg."
While Druski may have intended it to be comedic, netizens pointed out that it was essentially racist. One user remarked:
"Druski lowkey using racist humor," said @mobymeta
Another added, labeling their collaboration "weird":
"This is a super weird stream," said @WAlphabetically
Not everyone, of course, had a similar line of thought. Some played along with the joke, stating:
"Yep, its GGs… I bet they are already tryna cancel Druski," said @YorzTrulyJuice
"Chill, it’s the comedic genius in him," said @FearedBuck
Not the first time Druski has made questionable comments at Ray
Druski, a well-known comedian, has collaborated with prominent figures in the music and rap industry. He has also been a recurring guest on Kai Cenat's streams, including a past appearance alongside Kevin Hart.
During one of his earlier visits, the trio reacted to a clip of Kai Cenat and Ray attempting a spicy chip challenge. As a result of the intense heat, the duo ended up eating ice cream. Upon seeing the white substance inside, Druski instinctively asked:
"Is that rice?"
Realizing that the remark was stereotyping Asians, he said:
"Okay, that was a wild one. That was astray. That was uncalled for. I shouldn't have said that it was racist. I assumed it was rice. Kevin, you don't think I am racist, do you?"
Kai Cenat's ongoing Mafiathon 2 has featured a star-studded lineup of celebrity guests. Before Kevin Hart and Druski, other big names, such as Snoop Dogg, Quavo, Serena Williams, Marshmello, and Chris Brown had made appearances.
