Twitch streaming star Kai Cenat recently revealed that he has been invited to the upcoming Ballon dβOr ceremony, which is aimed at acknowledging and celebrating exceptional talent in football on the international stage. The event is an annual affair, and this year's event will be attended by many current top football stars such as Lamine Yamal and Nuno Mendes.
The streamer made the revelation during a recent broadcast on June 9, 2025, right before heading to the BET Awards Red Carpet ceremony:
"Also, chat, I got invited to the Ballon dβOr, but... I'm not into soccer, so chat, I'm not going to go, I'm not going to lie. I don't watch soccer, bro. So, this is the last one. I don't watch football! Go? Chat, no! No, I can't! Bro, I don't watch football!"
Kai Cenat states he may attend practice session with Inter Miami to "surprise" IShowSpeed with Lionel Messi
While Kai Cenat stated that he was reluctant to attend the Ballon dβOr ceremony despite being invited, he also revealed that he had been extended a special invitation by US football club Inter Miami, which is known for having Argentine football star Lionel Messi as its captain and forward striker.
As per Cenat, the streamer has been asked by the club to attend a practice session with them. However, Kai stated that he would instead use the opportunity to set up a "surprise" involving Lionel Messi for YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed," who is known to be a massive Cristiano Ronaldo fan:
"I got to them to go to one of their practices or something behind the scenes, and then after, to Ballon dβOr, but chat, I'm not into football, bro. I just might to to the Miami thing and then surprise Speed with Messi. That's what I should do! Now we're talking!"
In other news, IShowSpeed recently reached a major milestone in his YouTube career by reaching 40 million subscribers. The streamer celebrated the achievement during a live broadcast by launching himself headfirst into his streaming setup, with him seemingly getting injured in the process as well.
