YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" has responded to one of the many allegations leveled against his upcoming Amazon Prime show, Beast Games. On November 26, 2024, the Kansas native uploaded a 36-second video to X, revealing a small teaser for his game show. Claiming that Beast Games has broken "40 world records," MrBeast wrote:
"Here's a little teaser for Beast Games! I spent over a year creating this 10-episode competition series, breaking 40 world records, building the craziest sets in entertainment history, featuring 1,000 players, and a $5,000,000 grand prize! I poured everything I have into this show, I'll see you December 19th on Prime Video!"
As expected, thousands of netizens have commented on the post, with some bringing up the controversies surrounding Beast Games. X user @S117doteth inquired whether this was the "same" show where contestants "complained about terrible conditions":
"Is this the same one where a lot of contestants complained of terrible conditions?"
In response, MrBeast claimed that behind-the-scenes footage would show that the allegations against his game show were "blown out of proportion":
"We have tons of behind-the-scenes dropping when the show does to show how blown out of proportion these claims were. Just can't release it now because it would spoil the games."
What are the allegations about "terrible conditions" at the Beast Games that MrBeast says are "blown out of proportion"?
Beast Games made headlines in July 2024, when reports surfaced on X claiming that the game show's contestants were injured and faced a shortage of medicines while filming in Las Vegas. Some participants were reportedly admitted to Desert Springs Hospital because of a lack of food and water.
Later, on August 5, 2024, YouTuber Rosanna Pansino alleged that the Beast Games' production team reportedly "took every contestant's underwear and medicine". While claiming to have received testimonials from "multiple" female contestants, the 39-year-old wrote on X:
"Jimmy's production team took every contestant's underwear and medicine from them for some weird reason. They were told they would be given back each night to change, but were not. Multiple female contestants messaged me saying that Beast Games still has her underwear. Disgusting."
Things took a turn for the worse in September 2024, when a class-action lawsuit was filed against MrBeast and Amazon Studios. The lawsuit filed by the five unnamed Beast Games contestants contained allegations of failure to provide fair wages, false advertising, unsafe working conditions, and sexual harassment.
