On August 1, 2024, YouTuber Rosanna Pansino spoke about "appalling injuries" that alleged contestants of Jimmy "MrBeast's" upcoming Amazon Prime show, Beast Games, reportedly suffered during filming. In a YouTube video titled, These Beast Games injuries are appalling., the content creator claimed to have received "more than five statements" from contestants describing "horrifying events" that happened. She read two of them in the video.
Providing details into the matter, Rosanna Pansino said:
"I'd like to read you two statements from Beast Games contestants who witnessed the same and, in my opinion, a horrifying event. I've actually received more than five statements about this exact situation, but for the sake of this video, I will be reading two of them."
In the first statement, an alleged contestant claimed there was a lack of water, food, and medical attention during filming. They also reportedly witnessed "two seizures," with women and elders being injured.
The alleged contestant went on to claim that they even saw a rope wrapped around a young woman's neck:
"The lack of water, food, and medical attention was embarrassing and sad. Women and elders injured. I witnessed two seizures, a sprained ankle. Staff and medical did nothing to help her, leaving her for hours crying, teammates were helping console and aimed to get the staff to assist. (PA's ignored us) I witnessed a rope literally wrapped around a young woman's neck choking her out on the Red team, and multiple people being trampled on their heads and chests."
The alleged contestant accused MrBeast and the production crew of "encouraging" people to fight "over jerseys":
"I blame the production and Mr. B. for standing in front of us, encouraging the mosh pits and people fighting over jerseys. Many of us nervous for our safety, it was difficult to breathe or even stand up straight."
An alleged Beast Games contestant explains how a mosh pit was created during the "very first challenge"
At the two-minute mark of the video, Rosanna Pansino read out loud the second statement from an alleged Beast Games contestant, who claimed that a mosh pit was formed during the "very first challenge."
According to them, five teams had to pull 10,000 pounds. When the production team told the participants to split into 400-person teams, no one seemingly moved. However, when the crew told them they would give contestants colored jerseys for their teams and "started throwing" them, the result was a mosh pit:
"Also, I'd like to add about the very first challenge. It was 5 teams of 400 people pulling 10,000lbs. At first, they split us into 4 teams of A, B, C, and D. So we all lined up in front of the rope. When they told us we had to split into teams of 400, no one moved. So instead they said we would get colored jerseys for our teams. they started throwing the jerseys and this led to me in a mosh pit getting squished. There were three other girls around me and we're shorter."
The alleged Beast Games contestant added:
"But we were trying to keep each other from falling as we were getting squished. This was honestly so scary for me and I know they won't show this. I ended up getting out of the pit and saw a male contestant who had 8 orange jerseys. I asked him for one and he told me no. The strong young men were picking their teams so they could win. My team needed up being the red team of the older people and the rest women. We ended up losing because the people at the end of the rope had fallen down and the rope was choking them."
On July 28, 2024, MrBeast's Beast Games came under scrutiny after Vital Vegas reported that several participants from the game show were taken to Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas because of a lack of food and water.
